So for the first time in afl history the top four finalists and probably favourites for the flag are not from Victoria, this will probably upset the mexicans south of the border who still believe it is a victorian game.
Now I am not a huge fan of the game but I am an aussie bloke who loves sport and I think this is awesome for the game and also great to see featured in my number one game, rugby league have finalists from three states.
Imagine a kid living in penrith, nsw deciding his number one team was the north queensland cowboys, dad would certainly have reason to complain about taking little johnny to all their home games.
A mate told me on the weekend that his mate had a spur of the moment idea when Australia played Italy in the soccer world cup, he decided to fly to Stuttgart, Germany and watch the game live ,have a bit of a sleep on a mates hotel room couch and then fly home, this guy would have to be the winner of the most dedicated sportsfan for 2006 in all codes. It would have been too bad if the tickets he bought off the internet were fakes or if his jetlag was so bad he slept through the game and imagine if the socceroos would have won, does he fly home and then do it all again.Apparently the trip cost $20000 maybe it's not so bad that little johnny from penrith supports the North Queensland Cowboys, afterall it would be a cheaper...
