Retrospective on the Cavaliers a couple years back
December 9th 2009 21:18
A couple years back the Cavs were in the finals for the first time in franchise history. I wrote up a piece about it and it is time to reflect and look back on it. Just click here. I've had a chance to think about it.
It was disappointing that they didn't even win one game or the series. They have the opportunity to go back to the finals and win it this time. When I wrote this, I knew they had to face off with the Spurs, whom I believe may have peaked at that moment.
For fans however, such as myself, it was another moment of failure. This did have not one big bad moment that had a title. It just was a case of inexperience. I do believe this time however they will have more experience than they had before. Was that the best Cavaliers team ever? I don't know. I do know this, it went further than anyone could have anticipated.
Last season was disappointing because they did not go to the Finals. Would they have beaten the Lakers? That is hard to say because it's a what-if. Personally, they might have actually made the series more entertaining and last a while. I would have wanted the Nuggets because of a story that could have been built.
I do not know what the future is but I know this, they have to keep winning and get stronger. I hope the free throw shooting can get in order because they will need it come post-season time for sure. They say the season doesn't start until April? I disagree. You have to win as many games as possible to not only get in, but also get the highest seed possible.
